Two ways to wear it.

Your values prompt works two ways. Set it once in your AI's settings, or paste it at the start of every chat. Both work. Here's how.

Set it once

Once set, your bracelet is ready for every new chat.

How to set it up

  1. Open ChatGPT and sign in.
  2. Tap your profile picture or account menu (usually top-right on web, bottom-left on the app).
  3. Look for Settings.
  4. Find Personalization or Custom Instructions.
  5. Make sure the toggle is on.
  6. Paste your bracelet into the "How would you like ChatGPT to respond?" field.
  7. Save your changes.

Where to paste

Paste into the "How would you like ChatGPT to respond?" field

To remove: go back to Custom Instructions, clear the text, and save.

Character limit: ~1,500

Age policy

ChatGPT is available to users 13+ with parental consent for 13-17.

If you don't see this option

If you don't see Custom Instructions: update the app, make sure you're signed in, check that customization is toggled on, or ask a parent if your account is linked to theirs. School-managed accounts may have this feature disabled. Some regions may not have this feature yet.

Paste it each time

At the start of any new AI chat, paste your bracelet as the first message. The AI's first response will already have your values in mind.

This works as a first-message reminder on any AI — ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Meta AI, Grok, others. Provider policies still apply.

Why isn't my AI here?

Meta AI

Meta AI (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger) doesn't have a persistent setup option. Use the paste-each-time method above.

Grok

Grok's setup varies between standalone and X-integrated versions. We're not covering it in v1. The paste-each-time method still works.

Others

TikTok AI, Pi, DeepSeek, Mistral, and others — use paste-each-time. It works everywhere.
